Stephen has a strong understanding of international debt capital markets, especially in Emerging Markets, Africa and Frontier Markets, bringing years of understanding of global macro-economic trends, commodities, currencies and geopolitics to bear.

His experience includes managing a diverse range of Fixed Income securities and portfolios in multiple currencies. He has had a rich career, most recently as head of Fixed Income/ Portfolio Manager at Uthombo Wealth, a Johannesburg based portfolio manager. He was also previously, Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income with Aluwani Capital Partners and Momentum Asset Management in South Africa. Mr. Charangwa previously worked as Portfolio Manager with Frontier Markets focused Quantum Global Investment Management (QGIM) in Switzerland, managing a $6 billion sub-fund, within Quantum’s then $300 billion Assets under Management.

Stephen cut his teeth in the investment industry, initially as a Quantitative Analyst with London based Silk Invest, where he was later appointed Portfolio Manager, Fixed Income. He has an MSc in Investment Analysis from the University of Stirling, Scotland. A post-graduate diploma in Business Project Management from the University of Huddersfield and a BA (Hons) in Management from Leeds University.
